Tile Grout Installation
Doing a proper grout job will ensure that the floor under the tile stays safe from moisture.
Tile grout installation. Grouting is the final step of installing ceramic wall tile after the tile adhesive has fully cured. Work in a small area at a time roughly a 3 x 3 foot section. Grout it may not command the same attention as your tile but your grout is an important part of the installation process that affects the overall look. The process that i use will allow you to get the perfect finish on your tiles.
After tile is installed the next step is grouting the gaps between tiles. Use the center tile as a reference point and install the remaining tiles along straight lines. I am using pre mixed grout for th. This task is less time consuming and labor intensive than installing tile but it s even more important than making sure all your tiles are straight and look nice.
Spread the material in sweeping arcs pressing it into the joints to fill them completely. Grouting is not difficult to do well but it is even easier to do poorly. If adhesive oozes up between tiles when you press the tile into place you are using too much adhesive. One key to success is to remember that grout has a limited working time and can dry before you know it.
Place spacers between the tiles to establish the grout lines. In this video i show you how to grout tile. Use a hard edged rubber grout float and hold it at a 45 degree angle. Install only a few tiles at a time spreading adhesive for two or three tiles.
Pour a quart to half gallon of grout on the tiles.
