Tiling Bumpy Walls

Tiling bumpy walls. You can tile over it but it needs to be smooth to prevent your new tiles from laying crooked. Sand the wall with medium grit sandpaper 80 grit to further smooth the texture creating an even surface on which to apply the tile. Vinyl tiling can be used for a broad variety of applications in your home most commonly your floors. Move the knife in upward downward and sideways directions loosening and removing the surface of the texture from the wall.
Look for 100 grit or 80 grit sandpaper and wear a mask to protect your lungs from the particles in the air. Sand the paint on the wall using 80 grit sandpaper. However if you want a more unique approach you can put peel and stick vinyl tiling on your walls. Prime to seal it and let dry.
Mark off an area of equal size on the floor nearby. Place a wide drywall knife on the wall at a 45 degree angle. Sand the area with medium grit sandpaper until even and vacuum up the dust. Wipe with a damp cloth to remove any remaining dust and allow to dry.
